About the role

New Lodge is a thriving community in New Earswick that provides care accommodation for people aged 55 and over - a sanctuary for those looking to lead independent lives. The genuine sense of community and togetherness felt among our staff here is what makes it such a great place to work. Along with assisting residents and helping with day‑to‑day tasks, you’ll really get to know the people you support and become a familiar face to them and their relatives.

Service delivery

This role ensures a safe, effective, caring and well‑led service to our residents and their families, at New Lodge.

Leadership

The role of Care Team Senior is to provide relationship centred leadership and direction to the care team as a shift leader. It is a busy role, and no two days will be the same. It brings with it the need for flexibility and resilience as well as thorough working knowledge of safeguarding, compliance and health and safety, within an adult social care setting.

About you

You will have substantial experience in care delivery, ideally with older people. You will be comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment, maintaining standards and ensuring that quality, compliance, and safety are prioritised.

Qualities we look for

* Naturally motivated by helping other people.
* To be dependable, diligent and reliable.
* Outstanding problem‑solving skills and the adaptability to excel in different situations.
* Good time‑management skills.
* The flexibility to keep up with changing standards and codes of conduct.
* A natural listener with excellent communication skills.
* The ability to be decisive and remain calm under pressure.
* Ability to effectively use IT, including Outlook, Word and basic Excel.
* QCF/NVQ Level 2 (and be willing to work towards Level 3).

Please note that this role will be subject to a DBS check.
