Main duties of the job
You will provide the clinical pharmacy service in our dispensary and wards, ensuring the safe, clinical and cost-effective use of medicines.
You will effectively communicate with the pharmacy team and healthcare professionals to provide quality care, education, clinical supervision, and mentoring.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) King's Lynn is in West Norfolk, known for its unspoilt coastline and charming villages. The medieval port of King's Lynn features interesting architecture.
We deliver a comprehensive range of specialist and general acute services to around 331,000 people across West and North Norfolk, including parts of Breckland, Cambridgeshire, and South Lincolnshire. Our staff and volunteers number over 4,000, with approximately 500 beds on a single site. Some services are provided in community facilities, such as North Cambridgeshire hospital in Wisbech. We collaborate with neighboring hospitals for tertiary services.
In February 2022, the Care Quality Commission rated the Trust as 'Good' in all inspected services and recommended moving out of the recovery support system.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent
* Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical or Technical Pharmacy or equivalent demonstrable experience
* Registered as a pharmacist with The General Pharmaceutical Council
* Working towards and will have completed Independent Prescribing qualification by commencement in post
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* MSc in Clinical or Technical Pharmacy
Experience
* Extensive post-registration experience with substantial hospital experience
* Experience providing a pharmacy clinical service to patients in Emergency and Acute Care Specialties
* Experience of multidisciplinary team working
* Experience of implementing/reviewing policies, guidelines, PGDs or equivalent
* Experience managing the entry of new medicines into a hospital formulary
Skills, ability, and knowledge
* Effective communication with healthcare professionals and patients
* Provide expert advice on medicine use within a specialist area
* Manage difficult or ambiguous situations
* Prioritize and manage workload
* Demonstrate advanced reasoning and judgment
* Highly specialized knowledge in Emergency and Acute Care sub-specialties
* Knowledge of meeting local and national priorities in clinical pharmacy service delivery
