Our client, a leading Defence & Security company, is currently seeking a Senior Data Fabric Engineer to join their dynamic team on a permanent basis in Farnborough.
Key Responsibilities:
* Designing, implementing, and evolving the event-driven data fabric architecture that supports automation and AI-based systems, including ingestion, integration, storage, processing, metadata, governance, and access patterns
* Building and operating workflow automation capabilities to enable repeatable, governed analyst workflows
* Delivering configurable data integration through curated connectors and standard transformation patterns
* Engineering for Denied, Degraded, Intermittent, and Limited (DDIL) communications environments, supporting local processing at the edge
* Building streaming ingestion, event pipelines, and batch/stream processing workloads using technologies like Apache Flink and/or Apache Spark
* Implementing metadata, lineage, and catalogue capabilities along with policy-based security and governance
Job Requirements:
1. Extensive experience as a data/platform engineer working on distributed systems in production
2. Proven hands-on experience with open-source data integration and streaming technologies
