Senior Construction Operations Administrator Peterborough (Office-Based | Hybrid may be considered after probation, not guaranteed) £16-19 per hour (depending on experience) Full-Time | Permanent We are a growing Electrical & Mechanical contracting business operating across multiple live projects. We are seeking a Senior Operations Administrator to take ownership of office control, workforce tracking and commercial accuracy within the business. This is not a junior admin role. This position carries operational responsibility and requires experience within a contractor / construction environment. Core Responsibilities Workforce & Engineer Control Monitor and verify engineer timesheets (ServiceM8 fleet tracking) Track overtime approvals and holiday records Maintain accurate labour cost allocation per project Support payroll preparation (approved hours submission only) Cost & Commercial Control Upload and allocate supplier invoices correctly (Dext/Xero) Ensure all costs are assigned to correct job codes Reconcile supplier statements (e.g. electrical wholesalers) Prevent misallocation of parts and labour to protect margins Support month-end closing process across multiple entities Project & Operational Administration Maintain structured job records (ServiceM8 or similar) Monitor documentation compliance (quotes, invoices, approvals) Manage shared company mailbox (info@) Provide structured daily and weekly operational updates Liaise professionally with engineers, suppliers and clients Compliance & Systems Track training and compliance renewals (e.g. NICEIC / accreditations) Maintain organised digital filing systems Support ISO / H&S documentation tracking where required What We Are Looking For Previous experience in a construction / electrical / contractor office Strong understanding of labour tracking and cost allocation Experience with Xero, Dext, ServiceM8 or similar systems High attention to detail (financial accuracy is critical) Ability to work independently and take ownership Strong written and spoken English Structured, process-driven mindset This role requires commercial awareness and operational discipline. Future Growth The company is expanding and may introduce maintenance contracts and reactive works in the future. The primary focus, however, is supporting our electrical engineers, projects and daily operational control. As the business grows, responsibilities may evolve and be distributed across additional team members. Working Structure This is primarily an office-based role in Peterborough.
