Are you driven by changing children’s lives for the better? Join Esland and become a part of our highly valued team. We are seeking a committed, diligent Registered Children’s Home Manager to join our new Assessment Home based in Northwich (Cheshire). The home will open in early 2026.
This role is suitable for an experienced deputy or home manager who wants to take the next step in their career. You will be integral to recruiting staff, preparing the home and liaising with key personnel to ensure we meet regulations, the statement of purpose and expectations.
Compensation and schedule
Pay rate: up to £53,000 per annum + £3,600 car allowance + bonus structure with the potential to earn up to £8,500 in addition.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (additional/alternative hours may be requested to meet business needs).
Location and setting
Arley Grange will be a two-bed service providing immediate intervention and trauma-informed, therapeutic support. Over a 12 week placement, our young people receive security, support, and stabilisation in a nurturing environment with access to education and outdoor/adventure activities.
Responsibilities
* Lead and manage the residential home to meet regulatory requirements, the statement of purpose and Esland expectations.
* Recruit, develop and supervise care staff; ensure high standards of care and safeguarding.
* Collaborate with key personnel to implement trauma-informed practices and PACE principles of residential care.
* Promote independence and life skills while safeguarding the safety and well-being of young people.
* Maintain open communication with families, education partners, and external agencies as appropriate.
Qualifications
* A minimum of 2 years in a role relevant to residential care of children within the last 5 years (essential).
* At least 12 months experience supervising and managing care staff (essential).
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, England (essential); Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare, England (highly desirable).
* Previous experience participating in Ofsted inspections (essential).
* In-depth knowledge of legislation, regulations and best practice in child care, with ability to implement this within your home (essential).
* Full UK driving licence (essential).
* Right to work in the UK with no restrictions (essential).
* Candidates must be over 21 years of age to meet industry regulations (essential).
