Job Description
We’re looking for a Clerk of Works to join our HMP Glasgow team based in Royston, Glasgow. The role is site based with 42.5 hours per week and offers some flexibility on hours. We cannot offer sponsorship certificates to any candidates for this role.
Responsibilities
* Monitor construction activities to ensure full compliance with drawings, specifications and Scottish Building Regulations.
* Inspect workmanship across all disciplines and identify defects or non‑compliance using digital quality tools.
* Verify materials and support the management of Inspection & Test Plans to maintain quality benchmarks.
* Maintain accurate records including daily diaries, photographic evidence and quality reports.
* Support commissioning verification and assist with snagging during handover stages.
Qualifications
* Experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Inspector or Site Manager on large commercial or complex building projects.
* Strong technical understanding of buildings, including structural, façade, MEP and fire compliance disciplines.
* Ability to read and interpret drawings, technical documents and BIM information confidently.
* Familiarity with Scottish Building Standards, UK construction regulations and digital quality systems.
* CSCS card and full driving licence. ICWCI membership and IOSH/NEBOSH qualification desirable.
