What you will do:
- Directly engage with adults to understand their desires and aspirations, employing a variety of methods as the situation demands.
- Exemplify and encourage practices rooted in relationship and strengths-based strategies, collaborating closely with adults, their families, and carers.
- Efficiently manage a caseload under robust reflective supervision, performing comprehensive strengths-based assessments and crafting plans that are both person-centred and outcome-focused.
- Engage in regular supervision with your manager to critically assess casework and identify areas for learning. Stay abreast of the latest research findings, theoretical models, and advancements in social work practice to uphold the highest professional standards.
- Know when and how to seek advice, utilizing a broad spectrum of resources including named supervisors, Senior Social Workers, and other professionals. Apply and discuss multiple hypotheses to make well-informed decisions, especially in mental health and safeguarding situations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to fulfill service plan objectives and targets.
- Embrace the responsibility of safeguarding by ensuring the welfare and positive outcomes for Medway's care-experienced children and young people.
- Engage in other agreed activities as delegated by the Head of Service that align with the responsibilities of this role.
Requirements for the Social Worker position:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work.
- Current registration with Social Work England.
- At least two years of post-qualifying social work experience.
- Valid UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
