Salary Range: £33,178 - £36,369 pro-rata, per annum

Work Location: Rookwood Centre, Eastleigh - Hybrid role covering the New Forest and Eastleigh areas

Hours per week: 37 (part-time hours will be considered)

Contract Type: Temporary (6 months)

The Role:

The Homes for Ukraine scheme, launched by the UK Government in March 2022, offers British residents the opportunity to host Ukrainian nationals and their families fleeing the war, providing them with safety, stability, and access to work, education, and public services.

Joining our Homes for Ukraine Operations Team as a Project Officer you’ll play a vital role in supporting this life-changing initiative. Your empathy, understanding and commitment to supporting families in need, will ensure you thrive in this challenging, yet fulfilling role.

What you’ll do:

1. Deliver Homes for Ukraine services, including sponsor checks, accommodation visits, DBS processing and regular follow-ups to ensure safety and compliance.
2. Keep systems up to date with accurate information, ensuring timely and reliable records that support smooth service delivery.
3. Provide hands-on community support, working independently and alongside voluntary sector partners to meet the needs of Ukrainian guests and hosts.
4. Act as a trusted advocate, offering guidance, referrals and signposting to essential services where needed.
5. Share your expertise by mentoring and training colleagues and actively participate in team meetings, supervision and multi-agency networking events.

What we’re looking for:

6. Proven experience supporting children, young people and families in a caring or helping role (paid or voluntary), ideally including those with complex needs.
7. Excellent relationship-building skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and inclusively with people from diverse backgrounds.
8. Strong communication skills. Able to present information clearly in writing and verbally, produce coherent reports and engage confidently with professionals and partner organisations.
9. Flexible and proactive approach, using initiative to resolve challenges effectively.
10. Skilled in mediation and negotiation to achieve positive outcomes.
11. Confident in Microsoft Office and quick to learn new IT systems.

Travel Requirements:
