We are currently seeking a Managing Director to lead Meals & More, a registered charity, on a full-time, permanent basis. The role reports to the Chair of the Board of Trustees for Meals & More.
Meals & More aims to transform school holidays by supporting healthy meals and enriching activities through trusted community partners. Collaborating with holiday clubs across the UK, especially in areas of financial and social deprivation, the charity ensures children and their carers have a safe environment to grow and thrive. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025, Meals & More was founded by Brakes (now Sysco GB) and benefits from their strong partnership as its largest funder.
The Managing Director is responsible for the day-to-day management, strategic growth, and direction of Meals & More. This includes line management of the current team of three colleagues, oversight of finances and reporting systems, and close collaboration with trustees, partners, and stakeholders across the UK and Ireland. Building awareness and support for Meals & More, from public engagement to partner relations, is key. The role also involves leading strategy development and managing the charity's daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the delivery of Meals & More’s charitable purpose through its delivery partners, including onboarding and data collection to demonstrate effective use of funds.
* Develop and implement growth strategies, reporting progress to the Trustees.
* Support the Corporate Partnerships Manager to create a sustainable funding pipeline and increase supporter engagement.
* Explore new fundraising opportunities, including grant applications.
* Act as an ambassador for Meals & More externally and internally, fostering relations within Sysco GB and with external stakeholders including government bodies.
About You:
You will have experience in the charitable sector, understanding of child poverty, and knowledge of fundraising, including grants. Leadership experience, passion, flexibility, and a genuine commitment to making a difference are essential. You excel at building authentic relationships, collaborating with partners and teams, and are solutions-focused. Knowledge of the school catering, local authority, and holiday provision landscape is desirable.
