Job summary
Kitchen Stewards maintain cleanliness and organization in the restaurant kitchen. We seek a team player who will work well in a fast-paced environment, handling preparation and service orders.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Ensure all equipment for shift operations (china, cutlery, pot wash, glass wash) complies with Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures.
Responsibilities include:
* Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and tools, including dishwashers, hand wash stations, and trash compactors.
* Wash and disinfect kitchen and storeroom areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment using proper chemicals.
* Receive deliveries, store perishables properly, and rotate stock.
* Ensure clean wares are stored appropriately.
* Inspect, organize, and send soiled items for re-scrubbing and re-washing.
* Maintain trash areas and ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
* Maintain and operate all department equipment, reporting malfunctions.
* Assist with equipment repair and maintenance programs.
* Enforce proper use and cleaning of all dishroom machinery.
* Ensure cleaning routines for service ware, equipment, floors, etc.
* Enforce breakdown procedures for various service areas.
* Maintain uniforms and attend COSHH training.
* Perform other tasks as assigned by management.
* Comply with Marriott policies and procedures.
