Events Operations Manager
Salary: £35,000 - £37,000 per annum plus benefits
Type: Permanent, Full Time
Location: Rhodes House in central Oxford, hybrid working
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Events Operations Manager to join the Rhodes Trust.
The role
The Events Operations Manager is responsible for operational and logistical excellence in delivering internal Rhodes Trust Programmes and external commercial Rhodes House Ltd events.
The successful candidate will promote cooperation across departments at Rhodes House to ensure the successful delivery of events. They will also support the development and acquisition of clients for Rhodes House Ltd events, aiming to meet revenue targets to support the Rhodes Trust.
The Events and Operations Manager will primarily operate on-site at Rhodes House.
Essential skills, experience, and qualifications:
* Experience in event planning and operational delivery.
* Ability to think quickly and resolve issues during live events.
* Ability to organize event logistics from concept to completion.
* Proven experience overseeing events from initial client inquiry through to on-site delivery and post-event wrap-up.
* Strong ability to translate client needs into actionable plans, consulting relevant departments.
* Deep understanding of what makes a successful event and experience guiding clients to their ideal event.
* Excellent team player with a positive attitude, capable of working independently.
* Ability to build strong working relationships with colleagues.
* Proactive, organized, with attention to detail.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and database entry.
* A commitment to the values, ethos, and mission of the Rhodes Trust.
Desirable skills and experience:
* Experience using event management software such as Event Temple and accommodation management software like Mews.
* Experience working in both academic and commercial venues.
