Due to retirement, we have a rare opportunity for an experienced Credit Manager to join a highly reputable manufacturing business based within Burnley. This is a standalone role. The company prides itself on its long-serving workforce and has operations spanning across the UK and internationally. Your role will be to manage the credit functions for the group seamlessly.
Your new role
As the Standalone Credit Manager, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable across the group. Your duties will include assessing credit risk for new and existing customers, maintaining strong customer relationships, and ensuring timely collection of payments. You will oversee the administration of the company's credit insurance policy, negotiate with underwriters and credit information providers, and ensure compliance with the company's credit policies and conditions of sale. This hands-on role requires a proactive approach to resolving invoice queries and disputes, often collaborating with the sales team. You will also compile reports, manage online payments, and occasionally handle documentation under letters of credit.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed in this role, you should have significant experience in credit control and related functions, ideally with exposure to international transactions and multi-currency environments. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, strong Excel and systems knowledge, and the ability to work methodically under pressure are essential. A can-do attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service are required. You should be confident working independently and as part of a team.
What you'll get in return
