We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) lead to enhance our patient and public involvement and engagement research activities at CPFT.
This is a critical role to R&D in the Trust and will build on the solid foundations already established for PPIE in research at CPFT. The role will ensure that the voices of patients, carers, and the public are effectively integrated into research design, delivery and dissemination.
Main duties of the job
As the research Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement Lead, you will develop, coordinate, and implement strategies to engage with clinical and academic researchers, patient groups and the public to improve the quality and accessibility of PPIE in health and care research and you will do this across all CPFT services and directorates covering mental health and community physical health.
You will be responsible for developing partnerships with patients and the public, and other stakeholders, and leading on initiatives to ensure that the patient and public involvement and engagement activities undertaken across the Trust are high-quality and impactful.
You will work closely with clinical and academic researchers who are at all stages of their career to build PPIE capacity and capability and ensure a robust understanding and confidence to embed PPIE in their research. This will include developing, delivering and/ or sourcing training in the principles of equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and how it applies to PPIE and research participation. You will also ensure PPIE materials for researchers and for Trust public events are developed and kept up to date.
You will be expected to apply evidence-based approaches to the design, delivery, promotion and analysis of PPIE and research inclusion initiatives. You will develop and maintain an awareness of regional and national PPIE and research inclusion strategies and contribute to regional/national projects as required
