Our Application Delivery team are at the start of working in a new way; shaping, and delivering robust, industry-leading solutions. In this newly created role you will identify, develop, and optimise new and existing platforms, interfaces and solutions for the RSC, its audiences, and stakeholders.
You will be leading from the front when it comes to technical deliverables of the RSC's web-based services, so this opportunity is ideal for someone who is naturally curious and action-led. You will likely have a wealth of technical experience to draw from, and the ability to see the bigger picture as to how your work fits within the wider goals of an organisation.
Reporting to the Head of Application Delivery, key areas of responsibility will include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):
* Developing and implementing functional internal and external systems, platforms, and integrations.
* Focusing on day-to-day delivery of development and technical projects and their respective engineering-based solutions and architecture.
* Supporting the ongoing uptime, maintenance and performance of the RSC's existing platforms and systems.
* Providing senior technical support on projects.
* Leading technical implementation from a development standpoint, ensuring quality of code is up to standard and follows best practice.
* Identifying and advocating for ongoing enhancements and improvements to existing platforms and systems.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following knowledge and experience:
* Significant software development experience and a thorough understanding of the full software development lifecycle.
* Comprehensive experience working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular and/or similar front-end frameworks and API integrations.
* Knowledge of web development best practices, including responsive design and development, security, performance, and optimisation issues.
* Sound knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.
* An aptitude for problem solving, with a sound and logical approach to solving software design and development problems.
* Ability to work well within a team environment as well as independently.
In this role you will be expected to support and validate longer term technical decision making, supporting the Head of Application Delivery in prioritising the right work in the most efficient manner.
This is a full-time, permanent position based in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexible and hybrid working available (a minimum of 2 days working onsite is required).
