TXM Recruit are supporting a leading engineering organisation in the search for an experienced Fleet Engineer to join their team based in Derby. This is a key position within the engineering function, responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a national fleet of traction and rolling stock. Purpose of the Role Support, manage, and deliver testing, commissioning, overhaul, and in-service reliability of a UK fleet of traction and rolling stock. Ensure that all assets are maintained to the highest safety, availability, and performance standards. Provide technical support, lead incident resolution, and liaise with customers, suppliers, and industry partners to maintain operational excellence.Key Responsibilities Act as the primary technical contact for all matters relating to the traction and rolling stock fleet. Oversee and coordinate maintenance planning, service delivery, and supplier performance. Manage spare parts, tooling, and materials in collaboration with the procurement function. Lead technical investigations, fault analysis, and incident management to ensure timely resolution. Develop and maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration records, and asset management systems. Analyse performance and reliability data to drive continuous improvement.
