Boeing United Kingdom Limited is looking for an Experienced Simulator Technician to join our team in Crawley, UK.
The new joiner will be maintaining Devices to regulatory and company standards, ensuring that training devices are ready for use and Training Centre Customers are provided with professional technical support.
Hiring details:
1. This requisition is for a locally hired position in Crawley, UK. Benefits and pay are determined at the local level and are not part of Boeing U.S. based payroll.
2. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work on-site at one of the listed location options.
3. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Role involves shift work, standard working pattern is 2 dayshifts, followed by 2 nightshifts, followed by 4 rest days. Hours are 7am-7pm for dayshift and 7pm-7am for nightshift, pattern follows an 8-day cycle, e.g. Mon/Tues days, Wed Thurs nights, off Fri, Sat, Sun and Mon, next set of shifts begin Tues/Wed.
Position Responsibilities:
4. Performing pre-flight tasks
5. Performing preventative maintenance functions
6. Conducting troubleshooting and corrective maintenance activities on training devices
7. Performing training device updates (Software and Hardware)
8. Ensuring documentation procedures are completed
9. Providing total customer support service, that can include accompanying customers through instructor station training and during dry training operations
10. Providing supervision and guidance to junior team members, acts as a mentor on occasion
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
11. 5 years experience of similar type role, eg. Avionics repair / Plant Maintenance
12. Knowledge of EASA and UK CAA Flight Simulator Training device regulation and operations
13. Technical troubleshooting skills of electrical and mechanical systems including computer hardware and software
14. Knowledge of aircraft systems and operation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
15. Bachelor Degree in Engineering / Computer Science, or Engineering Apprenticeship completion
16. Customer Service focus, need to be able to communicate with Air Crew to understand the issue before resolving
17. Software programming understanding ability would be beneficial but not essential
18. Ability to work as part of a team
