Working Hours: Monday Friday, 8:30am5:00pm (40 hours per week)
Salary: £15,704 in Year 1 (then rising depending on age & National Minimum Wage for apprentices)

About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and detailfocused Paint Technician Apprentice to join our Accident Repair Centre at Emersons Green (formerly S J Cook & Sons). This is an excellent opportunity to begin a skilled automotive refinishing career while working directly within our bodyshop environment.
You will work alongside experienced technicians and learn to prepare surfaces, mix and apply paints, and use modern refinishing techniques to restore vehicles to a high-quality finish. This role provides full handson experience combined with structured training delivered by S&B Automotive Academy, a longestablished specialist apprenticeship provider.
What You’ll Do
As part of your daily work, you will learn how to:
* Repair minor scratches and dents
* Prepare new and repaired panels for refinishing
* Mask, prime and prepare vehicle surfaces
* Mix, match and apply paints using professional refinishing processes
* Perform paint detailing, buffing, and polishing to achieve a high-quality finish
Modern automotive refinishing requires precision and uptodate technical understanding. This apprenticeship gives you the opportunity to develop those skills while gaining recognised qualifications and valuable workshop experience.

Training & Development
This apprenticeship is delivered by S&B Automotive Academy Limited, one of the UK’s leading automotive training providers. You will work toward:
* Level 3 Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Apprenticeship Standard
* Functional Skills Level 2 in English & Maths, if required
Training includes weekly blockrelease at S&B throughout the year, supported by:
* An S&B Development Coach
* A Workplace Mentor
* Continuous progress monitoring and structured skills development
Your employer will continue to pay your salary while you attend S&B training blocks.
What You’ll Need
To be considered, you should have at minimum:
* GCSE English (Grade 3)
* GCSE Maths (Grade 3)
Predicted grades are accepted.
Work experience or relevant hobbies (e.g., automotive, paintwork, model refinishing) are beneficial but not essential.
