This role will be based in our Kings Langley office on a hybrid basis (3 days in the office) and will be offered on a 12-month fixed term contract basis.


Role Summary

We are seeking a Senior Sales Manager to join our dynamic team, reporting directly to the VP, Sales within Digital Solutions. This crucial role will expand our B2B footprint, driving revenue growth, and establishing long-term partnerships with renewable energy clients. The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of the renewable energy industry and expertise in sales operations and enablement, process optimization, data analytics, and bid and proposal management.


Accountabilities

* Sales Leadership: Contribute to the development and execution of the sales strategy in alignment with the company's objectives; collaborate closely with the VP of Sales in leading and motivating the sales team, providing coaching and guidance.
* Revenue Generation: Contribute significantly to the growth of the sales pipeline and revenue streams for the Digital Solutions business; identify and pursue new business opportunities, leveraging market insights and competitor analysis.
* Account Management: Foster and nurture relationships with key accounts, understanding their needs and delivering tailored solutions; gain a deep understanding of each key account's objectives, challenges, and pain points to deliver customized solutions; collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver products and services that go beyond client needs; conduct regular business reviews with key accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
* Market Expansion: Leverage market intelligence to inform strategic decision-making and identify new opportunities; stay abreast of industry trends and market developments within the renewable energy sector; participate in renewable energy industry events to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
* Sales Execution: Conduct presentations and product demonstrations; collaborate across the Sales team in negotiating agreements with clients to secure favorable terms.
* Sales Performance Analysis: Support the implementation of KPIs for forecasting and tracking sales targets; utilize CRM systems to manage sales processes and drive efficiency.
* Bid and Proposal Management: Play a key role in the bid and proposal process, ensuring timely and high-quality responses to RFPs, RFQs, and other commercial opportunities.
* Team Development: Work closely with the VP of Sales in building and leading a high-performing sales team; foster a collaborative culture that encourages innovation and growth.


Knowledge, Skills, Experience

* Extensive experience in sales operations or related roles within the renewable energy industry or a comparable technology-driven sector
* Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, marketing, or a related field; MBA is a plus
* Proven track record of success in B2B sales, preferably software, hardware/controls within the renewable energy or technology sector
* Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams
* Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and other sales enablement tools
* In-depth knowledge of sales and commercial processes, best practices, and the ability to deliver effective sales strategies
* Understanding of the renewable energy industry and market dynamics
* Strategic thinking with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable sales plans
* Experience working in a multicultural global environment
* Intellectual curiosity with a growth mindset
* Strong influencing skills, with a reputation for getting things done effectively
* Team-player with ability to dig into the details as well as see the big picture
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to navigate complex situations and influence at all levels

* Comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with a willingness to stretch beyond typical role boundaries
* Adaptable to rapid changes typical of start-up environments; collaborative mindset to grow across teams
* Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
