A well‑established provider of supported amodation for young people aged 16–18 is seeking a Deputy Registered Service Manager to join its growing leadership team. The organisation delivers high‑quality support to vulnerable young people withplex social care needs, offering both multi‑occupancy and solo placements designed to build resilience, independence and long‑term stability.
The service ismitted to delivering safe, nurturing environments where young people can thrive, in line with statutory requirements and the Supported Amodation Regulations 2023. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence and ongoing development of multiple services.

Your new role

The Deputy Registered Service Manager will work directly under the Registered Service Manager and provide strong leadership across several service locations. This role is ideal for an experienced manager seeking progression toward bing a Registered Service Manager with Ofsted responsibilities.
You will act as a role‑model for staff and young people, upholding high professional standards, promoting a positive culture, and ensuring consistent,pliant, high‑quality provision across all services.
Key ResponsibilitiesStaff Leadership & Development
1. Provide effective leadership, supervision, direction and support to Home Managers.
2. Oversee performance, capability, induction and appraisal processes.
3. Lead meetings,plete reports and maintain accurate documentation.
4. Manageplaints, conduct issues and HR‑related investigations.
5. Ensure risk assessments arepleted, reviewed and followed.
Operational Management
6. Act as a corporate parent, ensuring all statutory guidance is fully met.
7. Ensure policies, procedures and key information are shared and fully understood by staff.
8. Support the Registered Service Manager in driving performance across all services.
9. Ensure all services deliver their Statement of Purpose and operate in line with regulations.
Quality &pliance
10. Implement and monitor quality assurance frameworks across services.
11. Collect and analyse evidence from audits, incidents, young people’s views and data.
12. Prepare services for inspection and ensure continuous readiness.
13. Respond tomissioner queries and manageplaints investigations.
Financial Oversight
14. Support effective budget management and resource allocation.
15. Approve rotas, hours, agency cover and operational expenditure.
16. Report on financial performance and contribute to service targets.
Recruitment, Training & HR
17. Support safer recruitment processes and lead robust inductions.
18. Ensurepliance with safeguarding, GDPR, DBS, and employment procedures.
19. Identify and specify training needs in line with the Training Plan.
20. Promote professional development through regular supervision and individual learning plans.
Safeguarding Leadership
21. Act as Safeguarding Lead across all services.
22. Ensure all safeguarding procedures are followed by staff and regularly updated.
23. Lead safeguarding investigations and liaise with local authorities where required.
24. Encourage a culture where staff feel confident raising concerns.
25. Manage notifications and ensure notifiable incidents are escalated appropriately.
Referrals & Placements
26. Respond promptly to placement requests and support matching young people to suitable amodation.
27. Conduct visits, gather information, and support bespoke package development.
28. Ensure placement stability and support effective transitions when needs cannot be met.
Partnership & Relationship Management
29. Work closely with multi‑agency partners includingmissioners, social workers, police and safeguarding teams.
30. Ensure high‑qualitymunication and documentation is provided externally.
Premises & Health & Safety
31. Ensure homes remain safe, weing andpliant with health and safety and fire regulations.
32. Promote high standards of property presentation and upkeep.

What you'll need to succeed

Essential
33. 5+ years’ recent experience in a care management role.
34. Recent experience as a Registered Manager or Deputy.
35. Strong working knowledge of Ofsted and regulated services.
36. Experience managing challenging behaviour in fast‑paced settings.
37. Strong administrative, rota, report writing and safeguarding skills.
38. Level 3 Health & Social Care (Children’s Pathway).
39. Up‑to‑date safeguarding and/or management training.
40. Emotional resilience, strongmunication skills and the ability to lead under pressure.
41. Flexibility to work anti‑social hours and sleep‑ins when required.
Desirable
42. Level 5 Leadership & Management in Children’s Services (or working towards).
43. Experience within an Outstanding provision.
44. Strategic or operational management experience.
45. Knowledge of the Supported Amodation Regulations 2023 or Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
46. Clean driving licence.
