We are looking for energetic and friendly Teaching Assistants to join fantastic Primary Schools in and around Peterborough! The right candidates must have experience working within schools with children. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of pupils, working closely with class teachers to create a positive and inclusive learning environment. You will contribute significantly to the academic and personal growth of students, including those with special educational needs.
Responsibilities:
* Supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.
* Assisting with the preparation and organisation of teaching materials and classroom displays.
* Promoting positive behaviour and supporting pupil well-being in line with school policies.
* Listening to children read, reading to them, and assisting with literacy and numeracy activities.
* Monitoring pupils’ responses to learning activities and providing feedback to the teacher on their progress and achievements.
* Helping to create an orderly and supportive learning environment.
Requirements:
* Proven experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a UK school setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with pupils, staff, and parents.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning.
* Good literacy and numeracy skills.
* A flexible, adaptable, and proactive approach to your work.
* An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
