We have an exciting opportunity to lead CNS’ Training Team and deliver our industry leading training to both internal employees as well as external clients. Our Training Manageris responsible for developing and executing a variety of core training programs for our salaried and hourly employees, from entry level training to senior leadership development courses. Additionally, CNS have identified an opportunity to expand our expertise in training to external clients and the Training Manager will be responsible for client acquisition, the development of client specific bespoke training courses and client satisfaction.
You will need to be very adaptable, work independently and have a high level of detail to ensure the Training Team's strategic goals are met. The incumbent will be responsible forensuring compliance with federal and provincial legislation, leveraging modern/forward-thinking training methodologies/tools, and ensuring CNS continually meets a range of competency standards and reporting needs.

WHO WE’RE SEEKING
On a daily basis you will have to manage multiple responsibilities, projects, ad hoc requests and reporting up to C-suite Level.
This role has a number of key deliverables:
Daily Management:
* Lead the training team to organize and schedule all internal and external courses at CNS
* Collaborate with the training coordinator, the rest of the training team, human resources, and operations departments to create an annual training schedule in support of recruitment and operational demands
* Provide higher-level support when connecting with other service providers of training as required (i.e. other companies or divisions)
* Review the course evaluation forms, performance metrics and feedback regarding the effectiveness of CNS training courses and implement any recommendations for improvements as received from Training coordinator.
* Liaise with Regional/District and Site Managers/Supervisors to ensure CNS staff remain up to date on mandatory training requirements, including but not limited to First Aid, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, WHMIS, Use of Force, and Persons with Security Responsibilities.
* Approve external client course payments (invoices and other methods) with the financial department.
* Approve training shifts and ensure all payment requests are authorized for Commissionaires attending training province-wide.
* Occasionally instruct course materials as needed.
* Promote the training program through collaborative relationships across CNS and establish clear goals and targets.
Policy and Business Planning
* Create and submit business plans pertaining to training.
* Develop and implement new policies for training to ensure efficiency and regulatory compliance.
* Research and adopt innovative teaching practices for professional development.
* Conduct annual training and development needs assessment.
* Develop and implement effective training courses tailored to meet the current and future needs of CNS
Stakeholder and Client relationships, Including:
* Act as the primary liaison between CNS and external entities such as the Canadian Red Cross to enhance First Aid course structures.
* Represent CNS at conferences to promote training programs and refer security services.
Additional responsibilities:
* Provide support to the Training Coordinator and Instructors in communicating organizational needs and addressing operational challenges.
* Problem-solve issues escalated through the Training Coordinator as arising during training delivery, including in-class/virtual student concerns and logistical problems.
* Provide coverage for the Training Coordinator as required.
We are looking for our next Training Champion to have aminimum of 3-5 years of progressive experience in developing, delivering and assessing customized training programs within a large, standardised and complex business.
QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must:
* Be eligible to achieve a Government of Canada personnel security screening
* Not have a criminal record for which a pardon has not been granted.
* Have a valid Nova Scotia Driver’sLicense.
* Have demonstrated management experience /instructional experience.
* Have experience developing business relationships.
* Have an interest in and understanding of workplace diversity and inclusion principles.
* Be computer literate.
* Be able to complete and pass a criminal record check.
* Be able to communicate effectively in English (the ability to work in both official languages would be considered an asset).
* Experience with a modern Learning Management System (LMS) or applications, with a focus on adult learning would be considered an asset.
Education: (Minimum Required): Bachelor’s degree in Training Development, Education, Human Resources or a related field / or an acceptable equivalent of education and experience.
Skills and Abilities: (Minimum Required)
* Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational and presentation skills to support diverse course delivery over various mediums (i.e. in-person, virtual).
* Highly effective working as part of a team.
* Proven ability to pinpoint, analyze, and assess training needs, translating those needs into actionable training initiatives – also leveraging robust analytics/KPIs/metrics.
* Familiarity with mentoring and performance analysis.
* A proven ability to lead/foster a highly collaborative and productive team with internal and external stakeholders.
Professional / Technical Knowledge:
(Minimum Required): Strong MS Office computer skills are required.
* Ability to deliver course material in an instructional capacity, as required
* Background/knowledge in training and/or scheduling would be considered an asset
