The Role
The Welfare Officer will work closely with pastoral leaders, safeguarding staff and the wider school team to support student wellbeing and attendance.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting students with welfare and wellbeing concerns
• Working with pastoral leaders to identify students needing additional support
• Monitoring attendance and addressing persistent absence
• Liaising with families to support positive engagement with the school
• Providing a safe space for students experiencing emotional or social difficulties
• Maintaining safeguarding records and supporting safeguarding procedures
• Working collaboratively with external agencies when required
• Supporting behaviour and pastoral systems across the school
• Maintaining accurate documentation and records
• Promoting positive wellbeing and inclusion within the school community
