Job Title: Maintenance & Estate Manager
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance & Estate Manager to lead the maintenance department at Horwood House Hotel. This role is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, safety, and upkeep of the hotel and grounds, maintaining the highest standards in line with company policies and legislation. You need to have a minimum of three years experience in a similar role.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Compliance
* Oversee and coordinate all maintenance and Health & Safety activities across the hotel and grounds.
* Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, company procedures, and industry best practices.
* Maintain accurate and up-to-date health & safety records, audits, certifications, and contractor documentation.
* Implement effective systems for reactive and planned preventative maintenance to minimize disruption and uphold quality standards.
* Monitor and manage service contracts, supplier performance, and procurement to ensure value for money.
* Lead sustainability initiatives, implementing energy-saving practices and supporting environmental policies.
Team Leadership & Development
* Lead, support, and develop the maintenance team to ensure high performance and engagement.
* Promote a safe, efficient, and professional working environment.
* Provide training and guidance to staff to enhance skills, performance, and compliance.
Operations & Standards
* Ensure all maintenance issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
* Manage stock levels, inventory, and budgets responsibly.
* Coordinate waste and recycling management, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.
* Chair monthly Health & Safety meetings and liaise with all departments to ensure best practices.
* Represent the department at communication meetings and collaborate closely with the management team.
* Conduct benchmarking, meter readings, and utility consumption reporting to monitor costs and efficiency.
Professional Conduct
* Actively contribute as a member of the Horwood House Hotel team, supporting colleagues and fostering a collaborative culture.
* Demonstrate a professional, positive, and proactive approach with both colleagues and guests.
* Maintain confidentiality and uphold GDPR requirements.
Training & Development
* Attend training sessions and maintain online training records, particularly in Health & Safety.
* Engage in annual performance reviews and development planning.
Health & Safety
* Ensure hotel Health & Safety policies are implemented and adhered to across all departments.
* Remain up to date with all relevant legislation, including licensing, COSHH, fire safety, manual handling, and environmental health.
Company Standards
* Present yourself in line with hotel grooming and uniform standards.
* Promote the image and reputation of Horwood House Hotel at all times through professional conduct and high service standards.
General
* Ensure all information is accurate, secure, and compliant with GDPR.
* Undertake any other reasonable duties as requested by senior management.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
