About the Role:
Our client, a specialist SEN school in Kempston, is seeking two passionate and dedicated SEN Primary Teachers to join their dynamic and supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, including autism, social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) difficulties, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging, individualised learning experiences tailored to pupils' EHCPs and developmental stages.
Foster a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment where every child is supported to reach their potential.
Use a range of communication and sensory strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Assess and track pupil progress through personalised learning plans and regular reviews.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies to provide holistic support.
Maintain a strong safeguarding culture and promote pupils’ emotional wellbeing and independence.
Ideal Candidate:
Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
Experience working with children with SEN, particularly ASD, SEMH, or MLD/SLD.
Creative, adaptable, and committed to inclusive practice.
Confident in behaviour management strategies tailored to individual needs.
Excellent team player with strong communication and organisational skills.
Knowledge of specialist approaches such as PECS, Makaton, TEACCH, or sensory integration (desirable but not essential).
