There is an exciting opportunity within the North London NHS Foundation Trust (NLFT) for a full‑time Specialty Doctor to join the Enfield Acute Adult Services based in Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. The role is based on Sussex ward which is a 17‑bedded female acute admission ward at Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield. The post is available on a 6‑month fixed‑term contract basis (with an option to extend for a further 6 months following). We aim to be able to appoint to this post on a substantive basis in the very near future.
This is a fixed‑term post for 6 months (with the option to then further extend) which has become available due to a service gap. An induction will be provided to your placement explaining roles and responsibilities as well as your workplace. A Trust induction will also be provided after starting in your allocated post.
The successful applicant will work within the team and provide medical input, performing clinical assessments of individuals with mental health problems including mental state examination, history taking, physical health examination, and attendance of meetings with the multidisciplinary team. Additional opportunities include Mental Health Act Assessments, tribunal report writing, attendance, and leading MDT meetings.
The post holder will gain experience with the full spectrum of psychiatric morbidity and will work closely with all the members of the team (consultant, other doctor, physician associate, nurses, health care assistants, psychologists, social workers & graduate mental health workers). The care delivered is recovery‑focused, placing emphasis on individuals’ strengths and goals for the future.
