We're a long-established manufacturer of high-quality electrical products, supplying both UK and international clients. As demand continues to grow, we are looking for a Design Engineer to join our experienced in-house technical team.
This is a role where you'll take real ownership - being part of the whole design & manufacture process. through to production and supporting commissioning. You will be working in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with engineers who know their craft and take pride in getting things right the first time.

Who We're Looking For
Comfortable taking a project from spec through to handover.
Methodical, precise, and always thinking a step ahead.
A good communicator with clients, suppliers, and colleagues alike.
Interested in personal development.
Willing to get hands-on when needed.
Ability to present previous design work at interview.
Your Experience & Skills
HNC, ONC, NVQ, or similar in an engineering field.
Experience in a manufacturing or industrial engineering setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical design principles.
Proficient in AutoCAD.
Experience with control panel layouts and circuit design (DOL, VSDs, logic, etc.).
Understanding of PLCs - ideally Siemens & Allen Bradley.
Familiar with industrial networks (Ethernet, ProfiNET, ProfiBUS).
Able to create BOMs, test instructions, and tech documentation.
What You'll Be Doing
Take full responsibility for electrical designs on assigned projects.
Attend weekly technical meetings and manage your design workload.
Interpret customer specs and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
Produce detailed schematics and layout drawings.
Liaise with suppliers, internal teams, and clients to ensure timelines are hit.
Support build and commissioning stages, including site visits if needed.
Ensure projects meet quality standards & are delivered on budget.
Work to all relevant company and industry policies.
Shift Pattern
Mon-Thu: 8:00am-4:00pm
Fri: 8:00am-12:30pm
