Senior Project Planner – Infrastructure Projects

We are supporting multiple clients across the UK infrastructure sector who are looking to appoint experienced Senior Project Planners to support the delivery of major programmes and complex capital projects.
These opportunities offer the chance to work across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure schemes, supporting project delivery teams on high-value and technically challenging programmes within sectors including transport, utilities, energy, civil engineering, and major construction.
The Role
As a Senior Project Planner, you will play a key role in developing and managing project schedules, supporting programme controls activities, and providing clear planning insight across large-scale infrastructure projects.
You will work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure programmes are robust, achievable, and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and manage detailed project schedules across major infrastructure programmes
* Support project delivery teams with planning, programme reporting, and schedule analysis
* Monitor project progress and provide accurate forecasting and performance updates
* Identify risks, delays, and opportunities within project schedules
* Ensure planning outputs align with delivery strategies, milestones, and contractual requirements
* Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to maintain effective programme control
* Support NEC programme requirements and change management activities
Candidate Requirements
* Experience as a Planner or Senior Planner within infrastructure, construction, engineering, or major project environments
* Strong understanding of NEC contract frameworks
* Experience working within contractor, consultancy, or client-side project environments
* Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar planning software
* Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to work independently while supporting wider project delivery teams
* Experience across sectors such as transport, utilities, civil engineering, defence, rail, or energy would be beneficial.
