We're looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic person to join our Oxford team as a Buyer to efficiently lead the regional material procurement function across our portfolio of projects ensuring that material orders are let profitability, in accordance with procurement schedules, company processes, relevant specifications and the requirements of our project teams.
YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE
FOR, AND EXCELLENT AT:
* Receive and administer material requisition orders from our project teams, and issue enquiries to suppliers to obtain market competitive quotations
* Analyse quotations to ascertain most commercially advantageous offerings which meets requisition requirements
* Read and interpret drawings and specifications to ensure specification complianc
* Place orders with suppliers for necessary materials, at the most cost-effective rates conforming to all other applicable commercial and contract requirements, liaising with the site teams as appropriate
* Support site teams with material take-offs to establish material quantities, by hand or using electronic measuring software
* Support estimating team in obtaining material prices for tender bids
* Monitor and advise commercial teams of material price fluctuations, and suppliers notifications of cost increases
* Develop and maintain supplier relationships, ensuring preferential rates and rebates are received
* Attend project kick-off meeting to understand the specific material procurement programmes
* Produce accurate and timely material buying reports for presentation to regional leadership team
WHAT YOU WILL BRING:
* Leadership of the material procurement process to meet the requirements of our project teams
* Broad knowledge of construction materials, including technical, marketplace and environmental factors within the construction industry

EXPERIENCE:
* Demonstrable experience as a materials Buyer in a similar environment
* Experience of working in an office environment and working in a team
