Job Summary
We are seeking an innovative and enthusiastic practice nurse to join our team. The successful applicant will be experienced in primary care and will work in accordance with the NMC Code of Conduct, providing assessment, treatment, screening, health education services and advice to patients.
The post-holder will work with reference to practice agreed protocols and guidelines, providing nursing treatments to patients both independently and in participation with colleagues and general practitioners. Structured progression is on offer as nurses are encouraged and financially supported to develop clinical interest areas.

We are an innovative practice team in a medium‑sized, friendly, team‑oriented general practice. Stone Cross Medical Centre and Clifton Lane Medical Centre both have a list size of 5,000 patients and use the SystmOne clinical system. The candidate will be supported by colleagues and receive a full induction.

Job Responsibilities
 * Provide high‑quality care based on the needs of the practice population, including treatment, screening, preventative care and patient education.
 * Manage patients with chronic disease, run specific clinic sessions, and maintain robust call and recall systems.
 * Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule.
 * Provide travel health advice and administer appropriate vaccinations.
 * Treat patients with minor injuries.
 * Provide contraception services and assist GPs in this area.
 * Break bad news to patients/parents/carers and provide appropriate ongoing support.
 * Act as chaperone when required.
 * Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
 * Select, carry out and interpret results of specific tests.
 * Undertake anticoagulation clinics, including interpretation of blood tests and dosing.
 * Maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
 * Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
 * Collect data and participate in regular practice audit and research projects.
 * Contribute to the preparation of any practice development plans.
 * Maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
 * Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for all staff, patients, carers and co‑workers from other agencies, ensuring statutory regulations such as Health & Safety and COSHH are implemented.
 * Promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff, both in and out of the practice.
 * Maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP kept up to date in line with practice requirements.
 * Attend and participate in staff and practice meetings and in‑house clinical training sessions.
 * Any other reasonable duties that may be required from time to time.
Person Specification
 * Essential: NMC Registered
 * Desirable: Experience working in general practice
