TPF Recruitment is proud to be representing a growing and highly successful firm of Chartered Accountants with multiple offices across Sussex and Surrey. This well established and ambitious practice provides a full range of accountancy, taxation, payroll, advisory and financial planning services to thousands of businesses and individuals.
Due to continued growth and increasing client demand, our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their busy Brighton office on a fixed term contract, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent.
The Role
This is a full time position based in central Brighton, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 09.00 to 17.30, with a one hour lunch break. Alternative working patterns may be considered, however due to current resource requirements, this role will need to be a minimum of 30 hours across four days per week.
You will join a fast paced payroll team, delivering a timely and accurate service to a diverse client portfolio.
* Processing payroll from start to finish in a timely and accurate manner
* Creating and maintaining detailed payroll records
* Calculating part month payments and holiday pay
* Managing statutory payments
* Processing P45s
* Liaising with clients and clarifying payroll calculations where necessary
* Managing client pension schemes across multiple pension providers, including set up and monthly uploads
* Ensuring compliance with current payroll legislation and best practice
* Experience using Sage, STAR and Xero is essential
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced payroll professional with strong technical capability and a proactive approach to your work.
You will demonstrate:
* Excellent numerical skills
* Strong data entry and record keeping ability
* Competence in Excel
* A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
* The ability to use your initiative and work with minimal supervision following initial training
* Confidence communicating with colleagues and clients across all mediums
* Good IT literacy and confidence using payroll software systems
* A methodical and organised approach
* The ability to multitask and prioritise effectively
* Calmness under pressure when managing a busy workload
* Reliability, honesty and professionalism
A minimum of five GCSEs at grades A to C, including Maths and English, is required. Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
