THE EMPLOYER IS: RAINBOW CHILD AND FAMILY CENTRE To assist the Leaders in providing a safe, high quality programme and care for children aged between 6 months and 14 years.
Responsibilities
 * Help prepare and fully set out the room before children arrive and tidy up after the children/young people leave.
 * Help provide and take part in all the group’s activities.
 * To understand and realise the importance of play for the development of the child’s/young person’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs.
 * You will be expected to arrive promptly and be present for the whole session.
 * Attend and participate in staff meetings and assist in planning.
 * Take part in special events and group outings.
 * Encourage parental involvement and participant in the parental 'stay and plays'.
 * Listen to, encourage, enable, stimulate and ensure the safe keeping of the children and young people.
 * Keep completely confidential any information regarding children, their families or other staff.
 * Help ensure the setting is a safe environment for children/young people, that equipment is safe, standards of hygiene is high and safety procedures are implemented at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Skills
 * Good mental and physical health.
 * An interest in working in a childcare setting.
 * Fluency in English for health and safety purposes.
Desirable Skills
 * OCN Level 2 Youth Work or NVQ Level 2 Early Years.
 * At least 6 Months experience working in a childcare/Youth club setting.
