Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse or OPD specialising in Endoscopy to join our clients healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care during endoscopic procedures. This position requires a thorough understanding of this service and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
Duties
1. Prepare patients for endoscopic procedures, ensuring they understand the process and addressing any concerns.
2. Assist physicians during endoscopic examinations by providing necessary instruments and support.
3. Monitor patients' vital signs and overall condition before, during, and after procedures.
4. Administer medications as prescribed and manage sedation protocols.
5. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation throughout the procedure.
6. Ensure all equipment is properly sterilised and functioning before use.
7. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care.
8. Educate patients on post-procedure care and follow-up instructions.
Experience
9. Registered Nurse qualification or OPD
10. Current and Valid Registration with NMC or HCPC
11. Previous experience in an endoscopy unit or similar clinical or theatre setting is preferred
12. Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to gastrointestinal health
13. Proven ability to provide exceptional patient care with a focus on comfort and safety
14. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and healthcare professionals.
15. Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
