The Senior Clinical Andrologist supports the Laboratory Director/Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the andrology laboratory. The role ensures compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory requirements while maintaining high standards of patient care, laboratory quality, efficiency, and performance. The postholder will also provide leadership and support to laboratory staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the smooth and effective day-to-day operation of the andrology laboratory.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
- Promote safe working practices and ensure incidents are reported and managed appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local regulatory requirements and professional guidelines.
- Support the Laboratory Director/Manager in monitoring and evaluating laboratory performance metrics.
- Implement, maintain, and monitor laboratory quality control procedures.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Director/Manager to optimise laboratory processes and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with the laboratory team to deliver exceptional patient care and service.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and support to laboratory personnel.
- Assist in the development, delivery, and evaluation of training programmes for laboratory staff.
- Ensure the laboratory has the resources, equipment, and technology required to deliver high-quality services within agreed activity levels and budgets.
- Perform all andrology laboratory procedures to the highest professional standards and in accordance with FutureLife policies and procedures.
- Take responsibility for the management and movement of andrology samples into and out of the clinic.

Education and Professional Qualifications
- Degree in a relevant scientific discipline, such as Biology, Chemistry, Medical Technology, or a related field.
- Registration, where required, to practise as a Clinical Embryologist or equivalent laboratory professional.
- Demonstrated proficiency in laboratory procedures and quality management systems.
- Postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree or PhD) in a relevant field.
- Advanced qualification in Andrology.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Minimum of five years’ experience working within an IVF laboratory environment.
- Proven leadership and team management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop standards, provide coaching, and coordinate team activities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in the local language, both written and spoken.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
