Corporate/Commercial Partner/Head of Department
A dynamic, award-winning law firm with offices across South Wales is seeking a highly experienced and commercially driven legal professional to lead its Corporate and Commercial Department as part of ongoing strategic growth.

The Role
The Head of Corporate & Commercial / Commercial Property will hold a pivotal strategic and operational position, responsible for setting the direction and overseeing the development of this core department. In addition to leading a team, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of corporate and commercial matters.
Key responsibilities will include:
Leading and expanding the Corporate and Commercial team, setting strategic goals and ensuring high standards of delivery
Managing a varied caseload including M&A, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, restructures, commercial contracts and commercial property transactions
Driving business development and client acquisition across both local and national markets
Collaborating with the Managing Director and senior leadership team on firm-wide strategy and innovation
Mentoring junior solicitors and promoting a collaborative, performance-led culture
Representing the firm at key industry events, conferences and networking functions
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be a qualified solicitor in England & Wales with significant post-qualification experience in corporate/commercial law and commercial property.
Essential criteria include:
A minimum of 8 years’ PQE in corporate/commercial legal practice
A proven record in leadership, business development and handling complex transactions
Strong commercial awareness and the ability to think strategically and entrepreneurially
Robust technical expertise across a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters
Confidence and presence to engage with stakeholders at board level
Ability to work independently, maintaining consistent billing performance
Hybrid working available – arrangements to be agreed at interview
Willingness to travel to other regional offices as needed
Remuneration & Benefits
Starting salary from £100,000 per annum (highly negotiable depending on experience)
Performance-related bonus scheme, Hybrid and good benefits package.
