McCrae Training Ltd, now in our 14th year of trading, is a dynamic and growing business passionate about delivering excellent products/services to our clients. Due to our expansion, we’re looking for an experienced Finance Team Leader to join our team and help manage the financial health of the company. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and wants to contribute directly to the growth and success of the business.
Position Overview:
As the Finance Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company’s financial operations. You’ll be the ‘go to’ person for financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and ensuring the business runs smoothly from a financial perspective. Working closely with the business owners, you’ll play a vital role in decision-making and financial strategy.
This role offers a perfect balance of hands-on financial management in a SME business environment, where you can directly influence the company’s growth.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage the day-to-day financial operations of the business, including invoicing, payroll, accounts payable/receivable, credit control and financial reporting.
* Prepare weekly/monthly/quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
* Oversee budgeting, cash flow management and financial forecasting to ensure the business is on track with its financial goals.
* Analyse financial data to identify variances and potential areas for cost savings and process improvements.
* Work closely with the business owners to provide key financial performance statistics and recommendations for financial decision-making.
* Carry out accurate account reconciliation on a daily basis.
* Develop and mentor a small finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and growth.
* Identify and implement efficient financial processes.
* Conduct quarterly Performance Review meetings and bi-monthly 121s with the team.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience (3-5 years) in Finance or Accounting, with experience in a SME business setting is preferred.
* Comprehensive knowledge of financial accounting principles, budgeting and forecasting.
* Highly proficient and experienced in financial software (Zoho Books or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent problem-solving, analytical and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
* High level of attention to detail, accuracy and organisational skills.
* A proactive approach with the ability to think strategically and suggest improvements.

Pay: £29,000 - £35,000 per year
