An exciting opportunity for an experienced Freedom of Information officer to work for a large public sector organisation in Fife. You will manage and progress all requests and respond within the imposed legislative time scales, liaising with stakeholders, ensuring all requests and responses are carried out within the confines of legislation, including the implementation of any exemptions/exceptions, and assist departments and senior officers' adherence to FOI legislation as well acting within the spirit of FOI law to promote greater transparency.
You will be required to produce and maintain an approved Publication Scheme as required by the Act an provide access to information the board is legally required to proactively publish, deliver the statutory returns, provide training to all levels of staff and act as the principal resource of sound, reliable and informed legislative advice and guidance to all levels of staff within the organisation in this area of Scots Law
Essential skills:
* Extensive knowledge of personal privacy and a general awareness of business issues
* Extensive knowledge of the application of Information Governance and Security within the NHS.
* Data protection/information governance, Information Security Management System, data flows across Health and Social Care and procedures acquired through a combination of specialist training and relevant study to degree or equivalent level.
