Solution Architect
3 Month Contract
Location: Home Based
Rate: £600 - £650 per day (Outside IR35)
We are looking to recruit a Solution Architect for a police force to support several critical system implementation and upgrade projects as part of a wider digital transformation programme.
This role will focus on delivering high-level technical design, system assessment, and integration architecture, helping to ensure new and upgraded systems are well defined, secure, and aligned with enterprise standards. Working closely with project managers, business analysts, and technical teams, you'll help shape solutions that meet operational needs while ensuring technical robustness and maintainability.
This be considered for this role valid NPPV3 clearance is required.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the definition and design of solutions across multiple system implementation and upgrade projects.
* Produce high-level designs, technical documentation, and architecture diagrams.
* Undertake system assessments, options appraisals, and impact analysis for new or upgraded applications.
* Define technical standards, principles, and patterns to ensure consistent architecture across projects.
* Work closely with business analysts to translate user and operational requirements into technical designs.
* Evaluate integration, data, and security implications of proposed solutions.
* Provide expert technical guidance to managers and delivery teams.
* Support ongoing gap analysis between legacy systems and target architectures.
Experience & Skills
* Proven experience as a Solution Architect, Technical Architect, or similar senior technical design role.
* Active NPPV3 clearance (or transferable) is essential.
* Strong understanding of Microsoft environments, application architecture, and system integration.
* Ability to produce clear, well-structured architecture documentation and high-level designs.
* Experience working across multiple business applications or specialist systems (knowledge of Cellebrite, CoreVet, Clue, or Niche advantageous).
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex systems into actionable designs.
* Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
* Prior experience in public sector, policing, or other highly regulated environments preferred.
