We are seeking a talented and ambitious Assistant General Manager (AGM) to support the General Manager in the leadership and development of our premium coffee and bistro operation at The Mansion in Roundhay Park. This role is ideal for a motivated hospitality professional with supervisory or junior management experience, looking to step up into multi-faceted leadership.
You'll oversee day-to-day operations, support staff management, and help drive performance while maintaining the highest standards of service and product delivery.
Core Responsibilities:
Operations & Service
* Oversee daily floor operations, ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth service delivery.
* Support the General Manager with opening/closing duties, cash handling, and venue security.
* Act as Duty Manager in the absence of the GM.
* Ensure consistency in product quality, coffee standards, and food safety compliance.
People & Leadership
* Supervise, coach, and motivate a team of 10–20 staff.
* Support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff training.
* Assist with rota planning and shift management.
* Lead by example, fostering a positive, professional, and customer-focused culture.
Business Support
* Assist in monitoring financial performance, including cost control and stock management.
* Support the GM in menu development, promotions, and new initiatives.
* Provide feedback on operational improvements and customer experience enhancements.
* Contribute to marketing and business development activities as required.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
* Proven experience in hospitality (coffee shop, bistro, restaurant, or similar fast-paced environment).
* Supervisory or assistant management experience.
* Strong knowledge of customer service standards and hospitality best practice.
* Good financial awareness (cash handling, stock control, basic reporting).
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Barista or strong coffee background preferred.
