The Opportunity
Join the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering in the Faculty of Engineering at UNSW as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in a teaching and research role. As a Lecturer (Level B), you will develop your scholarly research and professional activities nationally and internationally, while contributing to teaching and service missions. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C), you will establish an internationally recognised research program, maintain industry partnerships, foster collaborations that drive impactful research and innovative advancements in thermo‑mechanical engineering.
We are seeking a candidate with a proven research background and strong educational experience in advanced manufacturing engineering. You will have experimental expertise in advanced composite materials and structures and/or additive manufacturing of metals and polymers. Potential research areas include modern manufacturing processes for advanced composites and metals, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, sustainable and green manufacturing, and robotic manufacturing.
This role reports to the Head of School and has no direct reports.

Qualifications & Experience
* PhD in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Robotics Engineering (or closely related field).
* For Level B: Demonstrated track record in modern manufacturing processes (advanced metals and composites, nano‑ and micro‑fabrication, smart design for manufacturing, microelectronic systems, robotic manufacturing).
* For Level C: Extensive experience translating research into practical outcomes, attracting research funding, supervising research students.
* Proven experience in translating research results into practical outcomes.
* Development of alternative delivery models for teaching (online/blended).
* Strong communication skills and ability to network effectively.
* Teamwork, collaboration across disciplines, and relationship building.
* Compliance and supervisory training as required.
* Implementation of UNSW health and safety policies.
* Commitment to UNSW’s values and policies, including health & safety responsibilities.
