About the Role
As Genetics Product Manager – New Zealand Markets, you will own the performance and direction of CRV’s Grass-Fed, Global and Dairy Beef genetics portfolio in New Zealand. You’ll be responsible for driving turnover, margin and market share by translating market insight into clear product, pricing, allocation and go-to-market plans.
Working closely with Sales, Product Development & R&D, Operations (Supply Chain), Finance, Customer Services and CRV’s global marketing/genetics/data teams, you will:
* Manage the Grass-Fed & Global and Dairy Beef genetic product portfolios for New Zealand.
* Set and monitor product budgets; track and report on commercial performance and initiate activities to stimulate sales.
* Analyse competitor positioning and anticipate market and technology developments through customer and sales-team insights.
* Build strong business cases for new product development and coordinate product support and technical material for the market.
* Determine pricing in line with margin directives and continuously optimise portfolio pricing to maximise turnover.
* Contribute to allocation strategy, manage product allocation, and support Global S&OP through forecasting and strategic allocation for high-demand bulls.
* Support capability uplift by training and enabling Sales & Marketing on product characteristics and how to market and sell the portfolio.
This position is based at our Bellevue Head Office in Matangi just outside of the Hamilton city boundary and the hours of work are Monday to Friday (37.5 hours/week).
About You
You’re commercially minded and customer focused, with the ability to translate genetics and market insight into product decisions that help farmers and the business succeed. Experience in animal breeding or genetics is advantageous.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management, as you’ll work with a wide range of internal teams, CRV global colleagues, suppliers and end customers.
To be successful in this role you will need:
* Bachelor of Science or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a product management or marketing and sales function in the agribusiness industry.
* Good understanding of New Zealand farming systems and challenges for the dairy & beef industry in NZ and internationally.
* Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities.
* Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
* Strong commercial and business acumen.
* Proactive, solutions focused, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
* To have strong skills in the Microsoft Office suite and the ability to learn new systems.
