Grade 5 £28,598 - £31,022 pro rata (actual salary £11,593 - £12,576)
15 hours (Monday and Tuesday split shift 7am-10am, 3pm-6pm and Wednesday morning 7am-10am)

Shawlands Primary School wish to appoint a hardworking, enthusiastic person with the highest of standards to be the joint Premises Manager for our school. This is a varied role which would suit someone with good practical skills who takes pride in what they do. You must be able to manage your own workload and also liaise with other staff and contractors professionally with regards to the maintenance and improvement of the school. The successful candidate will work in close partnership with the Headteacher, staff, parents and governors to help develop our school, sharing our vision and aims to drive the school forward.
Under the direction of the Headteacher and Business Manager, and in accordance with the practices and procedures of the school, you will use your initiative to ensure that the premises and its contents are appropriately maintained, and fit for purpose.
The role involves being responsible for the security of the premises and its contents, along with Health and Safety. This will include the role of key holder, and the operation of fire and intruder alarms. You will undertake non specialised DIY repairs, some cleaning and occasional decorating as well as oversee minor premises improvement projects and deal with contractors.
Experience of some regulatory testing and contractor management for maintenance and repairs would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for legionella monitoring, asbestos monitoring, fire alarm testing etc. You will be expected to access training where required.
You must have good general handyperson/DIY skills with experience and knowledge of Health and Safety requirements in a working/educational environment.
