Lead Data Engineer – Building High-Performance Python, Data & AI Teams
We are partnering with a leading scale‑up in the AdTech space where Data is at the forefront of everything they do. We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to join their team and champion the development of their Data platform.
Responsibilities
* Own the end‑to‑end design and implementation of real‑time data pipelines using GCP, Kubernetes, DBT, Airflow and BigQuery.
* Lead a small team of 3 Engineers, mentoring and growing the team over time.
* Collaborate with product, data science and engineering partners to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
* Drive best practices in data platform engineering, including data quality, observability, and performance optimisation.
Qualifications
* Hands‑on experience building data pipelines in data‑heavy environments (real‑time and batch) – 3+ years in a senior data engineering role.
* Strong knowledge of GCP, Kubernetes, DBT, Airflow and BigQuery – 3+ years with GCP.
* Proven experience leading engineering teams or acting as a tech lead.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Compensation & Benefits
£100k‑£130k + bonus, comprehensive benefits package, hybrid working – 3 days a week in Central London.
