Pre-Press Technician (packaging background) Crewe Hours - Monday to Friday 8-4pm Benefits - 20 days holidays plus BH Salary - DOE Job Summary The primary objective of the Pre-Press Operative is to maintain the flow of the work to the printing presses by ensuring the correct quantities of ink are prepared to set specification as per works instruction. Other accountabilities will include checking and organising printing plates. Key Responsibilities Mixing inks to specification. Loading inks onto dispenser. Back matching colours. Colour matching on press when necessary. Controlling and loading jobs onto X-Rite Colour Management Software. Working with print manager to achieve pass first time on press. Maintain organisation and upkeep of ink stores. Control and order stock levels. Work with print manager on continuous improvement projects. Locating plate bags against job bag. To communicate fully with all relevant parties and assist whenever issues arise relating to your specific area of responsibility within the department. Key Skills Have previous experience of a pre-press role Have experience in colour matching Have knowledge of X-Rite Colour Management Software Have knowledge of Flexographic Printing Good understanding of print, communication skills, good organisational skills.
