About the Role: Social Work Manager – Children’s Social Care
As a Social Work Manager, you will oversee the Children in Our Care team, supervising approximately 6 social workers who support children subject to Care Orders. Your role will involve providing leadership, guidance, and management to ensure the delivery of high-quality social work services. You will be instrumental in maintaining best practice, ensuring statutory compliance, and fostering a supportive environment for your team.
Candidate Responsibilities for the Social Work Manager – Children’s Social Care
Lead and supervise a team of approximately 6 social workers within the Children in Our Care team
Provide professional guidance and support to team members, fostering development and best practices
Oversee case management to ensure timely and effective interventions for children subject to Care Orders
Monitor team performance and implement strategies to improve service delivery
Ensure compliance with local authority policies and statutory regulations
Liaise with external agencies, families, and other stakeholders to promote positive outcomes for children
Maintain accurate records and prepare reports for senior management and regulatory bodies
Play an active role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children under your team’s careCandidate Requirements for the Social Work Manager – Children’s Social Care
Qualified social worker registered with Social Work England
Proven experience managing or supervising a social care team, preferably within Children’s Social Care
Sound knowledge of child welfare legislation, safeguarding policies, and best practices
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Ability to manage a busy caseload and lead a team in a fast-paced environmentBenefits & Pay
Competitive pay rate 36.61 LTD inclusive of holiday pay or 28.72 Paye excluding holiday pay
Contract length: 17 weeks, with potential for extension
