About the Role:
1. Building relationships with suppliers and internal colleagues, frequently holding supplier meetings and reviewing stock offers.
2. Negotiating costs and supply for the product range and looking at opportunities to expand that range to grow the margin capability
3. Working on new potential suppliers to drive availability, range and profitability
4. Managing supplier performance, tracking service levels and outstanding orders, ensuring systems are updated to achieve the service level KPI agreed
5. Staying up to date with retail pharmacy news including reimbursement changes, category changes and the pharmacy contract negotiations
6. Understanding warehouse management systems and key elements to ensure stock levels are managed effectively
7. Taking on key reporting for the team including service levels, monthly rebate claims and supplier spend
What We’re Looking For:
8. This role will require previous buying experience in pharmaceuticals, and will cover all NHS categories
9. Analytical thinking, dissecting data and making data-driven decisions
10. Negotiation skills (training preferred)
11. Interpersonal skills, effectively building relationships
12. Excellent time management, able to prioritise effectively and meet deadlines
13. Effective use of all Microsoft based applications
