A leading national housebuilder is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Planning Manager to play a pivotal role within its regional land and planning team.
Reporting to the Land Director, this role will effectively lead the planning function for the region, supporting the business across both immediate and strategic land opportunities and playing a key role in delivering the region’s growth strategy.
This position would suit a planning professional already working within a housebuilder or residential developer, who enjoys being closely involved in land acquisition, planning strategy and delivering planning permissions for residential schemes.
The Role
* Lead the planning strategy across the region’s land portfolio, covering both immediate and strategic land.
* Support the Land Director and Land team in identifying, assessing and acquiring new development opportunities.
* Provide planning advice and risk analysis on land bids and acquisitions.
* Manage the promotion of strategic land through the Local Plan process.
* Lead the preparation, submission and negotiation of major residential planning applications and appeals.
* Work closely with technical, land and commercial teams to ensure planning strategy supports project delivery.
* Manage and coordinate planning consultants and specialist advisors.
* Build strong relationships with local authorities and key stakeholders across the region.
About You
* Currently working within a housebuilder or residential developer in a planning role.
* Strong experience across both immediate land and strategic land promotion.
* Excellent understanding of the residential development planning process.
* Proven track record of securing planning permissions for housing developments.
* Comfortable working closely with land teams and contributing to land acquisition decisions.
* Strong commercial awareness and the ability to balance planning risk with development opportunity.
* MRTPI qualified (or equivalent experience) preferred.
