Job Title: SEN Teacher Location: Dinnington Salary: £160 - £250 per day (Depending on Experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time Are you a passionate and resilient educator with experience teaching students with special educational needs? GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated SEN Teacher to work in mainstream schools across Dinnington that cater to students with a variety of additional needs. This is a wonderful opportunity for an experienced SEN specialist or a confident primary/secondary teacher looking to transition into SEN education. About the Role: You will be responsible for teaching small classes of students with special educational needs such as autism (ASD), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), speech and language difficulties, and other complex learning needs. The role requires someone with a nurturing attitude, strong classroom management, and the ability to deliver engaging and adapted lessons that meet the individual needs of students. Responsibilities of the SEN Teacher: Plan and deliver differentiated lessons according to students’ EHCPs and learning levels Create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that encourages progress and independence Work collaboratively with SENCOs, support staff, and external professionals Monitor, assess, and report on pupil progress, adjusting teaching strategies where necessary Foster strong relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers Promote positive behaviour and emotional regulation through consistent routines and strategies Skills & Requirements for SEN Teacher: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent such as QTLS, PGCE etc. is essential Proven experience teaching students with SEN, preferably in a specialist or alternative provision setting is desirable Knowledge of various special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and MLD Familiarity with EHCPs, IEPs, and progress tracking for SEN students Excellent communication and behaviour management skills Have an updated CV and an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
