A vacancy for a full-time Product Validation Test Engineer within Hochiki Europe Ltd, based in Rochester, Kent, has arisen. The role will involve verifying development product designs to meet Hochiki’s proprietary communications protocols within their fire detection devices, other Hochiki modules, and the acceptance and certification of Hochiki’s partners - manufacturers of fire alarm control panels. Documentation, maintaining records of results and report writing are essential with the use of Windows Microsoft Office and Excel. Knowledge of PractiTest and creation of test cases with an in depth understanding of the Hochiki devices would be advantageous, but training will be given. The use and experience of National Instruments TestStand to support automatic testing is also a great advantage. An ability to read circuit diagrams, basic background in electronic components and knowledge of EN54 European Standards is desirable; however, not essential as training will be given with on-the-job learning. If you have experience in testing the features & functions of fire alarm devices and fire alarm control panels in a product technical support role, this position may be suited to you. There will be a requirement to communicate with external clients and internal R&D engineers.
