As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Chief Technology Officer will have overall responsibility for change, technology, and business intelligence.
This role requires utilizing technology to drive efficiencies in IT, data, and change management across the business, along with the ability to engage in detailed technical discussions while maintaining a strategic overview.
This role has the potential to become permanent after the 9 months fixed-term contract.
This role falls under SM&CR and holds SMF 24 responsibilities.
Minimum requirements include:
* Significant management experience at senior level in IT and change fields, including operating at a strategic level.
* Project management of third-party IT projects.
* Digital strategy development and implementation.
Key responsibilities include:
* Maintain and communicate a vision of how IS will support future business directions, relationships, and working practices, championing innovation to support the Group’s growth ambitions.
* Develop a coherent digitally enabled IT strategy with the senior management team for Board adoption, managing its tactical implementation and reviewing it regularly.
* Lead the digital transformation of the Group, co-creating the digitally enabled IS strategy.
* Influence the Executive Committee in setting priorities and direction for IS resources and capabilities, reviewing major IS initiatives and projects to ensure alignment with strategy, standards, and policies.
- Ensure that the business cases for initiatives fully cover IS costs and benefits, and address resourcing implications.
- Ensure proposals are consistent with the IS strategy, standards, and policy.
- Adjust the IS roadmap as necessary based on changing business priorities and innovations.
* Manage changes to the application and infrastructure estate to meet operational resilience needs, including cybersecurity, business continuity, and disaster recovery.
* Oversee IS operating policies and procedures to safeguard assets and address weaknesses promptly.
* Identify, evaluate, and manage risks within the IS Department and report on risks elsewhere in the Group.
Leadership & Management
* Communicate goals and foster a culture of innovation.
* Act as an ambassador for Hodge, enhancing brand awareness and attractiveness as a partner and employer.
* Lead and motivate Change, BI, and IT staff to maximize performance.
* Manage resourcing, training, and enterprise architecture development.
* Develop and maintain IT, BI, and change budgets, ensuring cost control and monitoring.
Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management
* Define and maintain change governance lifecycle.
* Manage activities from strategy to portfolio, ensuring coherent project execution aligned with strategic goals.
* Deliver projects on time, within budget, and with intended benefits.
General
* Comply with policies, procedures, and legislative requirements, including GDPR, Money Laundering, Health & Safety, PRA/FCA regulations.
* Undertake other tasks as requested by senior management.
* Maintain knowledge of compliance and risk regulations.
* Support a risk-aware culture by managing risks personally and within the organization.
