RG Consultancy are working exclusively with a well-established construction business based in Rochdale who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts Assistant to support the Finance Manager on a daily basis. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day transactions, purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control and payroll support. 24 days holiday 8 bank holidays Flexible working hours Complete Christmas closedown Free onsite parking Pension scheme Life assurance Role responsibilities Processing purchase and sales invoices accurately and in a timely manner Managing accounts payable and receivable functions Reconciling bank statements and supplier accounts Maintaining accurate financial records and ledgers Assisting with month-end and year-end financial procedures Preparing and submitting VAT returns CIS compliance, including subcontractor checks, tax deductions, returns, and HMRC liaison Handling petty cash and staff expenses Assisting with payroll preparation Supporting with credit control and debt collection Responding to supplier and customer queries professionally Person specification An AAT or equivalent qualification would be an advantage but not essential Experience working within an accounts/finance role is essential CIS experience and knowledge would be highly desirable Strong IT skills and system knowledge Experience with SAGE would be preferred, strong MS Excel skills; essential
